Cavity Wall-Tie / Void Inspections
We are often called out to inspect external wall voids for the following:
- The presence and consistency of wall ties
- To determine the presence, type or lack of insulation materials in the void
- To locate damp proof membranes beneath the inner timber frame
- To locate services or leaks
To minimise any damage to the building fabric, we use metal detection and Fibre Optics (video and still shots). Our findings are marked up on a sketch, accompanied by photos/videos and presented in a clear and concise report format.
Simpson Builders are frequently asked to renovate or convert old and historic buildings where
we often come across damp, decaying or woodworm infested timber.
